About SkatingStorage
SkatingStorage is a searchable archive of ice dance elements inside
full competition videos. The goal is to make it easier to find
examples of specific element types, scores, teams, and competitions
without scrubbing through entire events.
What It Includes
- Official element calls, base values, GOE, and element scores when available from protocols.
- Human-reviewed or accepted timestamps for each public element.
- Search filters by season, competition, level, team, element type, score, and favorites.
- Judge-by-judge GOE details when the official protocol data has been entered.
- Shareable reel building for saving selected elements into a simple playback list.
What It Is Not
- SkatingStorage is not an official ISU, IOC, federation, or event site.
- It does not replace official protocols, rulebooks, or technical panel decisions.
- Public playback currently uses source video timestamps rather than hosted clips.
- Reels are timestamp playlists, not downloadable edited videos.
- Timing boundaries are practical study references, not official element start or end rulings.
Why It Exists
Ice dance elements are difficult to study from long event replays.
SkatingStorage organizes programs into short, searchable element
references so skaters, coaches, fans, and researchers can compare
examples more efficiently.
How Labels Are Made
- Identify the event, season, level, segment, source video, and official protocol.
- Enter the official executed elements in protocol order, including calls, scores, and judge marks when available.
- Estimate video start and end times from the actual program footage.
- Review and correct timings manually. Public data only includes elements marked accepted or corrected.
- Use source video timestamps for public playback unless rights-cleared clips are available privately.
A timestamp is meant to open the source video at a useful study point
for the element. It may include a small lead-in or exit when that
makes the element easier to understand. It is not an official
technical panel boundary.
