How to Read and Use These Examples
SkatingStorage combines source-attributed results with original explanation so the data can be checked, interpreted, and used in the correct rules context.
Standalone and Combination Calls Are Different
RoLi4 identifies a Level 4 rotational-lift component. A card labeled only RoLi4 represents a standalone rotational lift, while a call such as RoLi4+StaLi4 or StaLi4+RoLi4 records a combination lift containing rotational and stationary components. Those calls should not be compared as if their base values came from the same single element. Combination lifts contain more than one scored component and normally produce a larger total value, so the call structure must be read before the score is used as a quality comparison.
How This Study Set Was Built
The page searches accepted or corrected public archive labels for calls containing a Level 4 rotational-lift component. It includes both standalone and combination examples because the rotational portion can be useful in either context. Results are ordered by the recorded element score, then by GOE and judge-average data when those fields are available, and limited to twelve source-linked examples. The resulting list is a transparent archive view, not an official ranking of teams, lift design, difficulty, or safety.
What to Observe Beyond the Level
Watch the entry before the lifting partner begins the rotation, then follow the stability of the axis, the lifted partner's position, the travel across the ice, and the control of the exit. In a combination lift, also identify where one component ends and the next begins. A clear transition can make the structure easier to read, while a difficult camera angle can hide important details. Level confirms credited technical features; it does not by itself describe speed, confidence, musical integration, or the overall quality rewarded by the judges.
Reading Base Value, GOE, and Deductions
The card separates base value, GOE, and total element score when the protocol supplies them. Use all three fields. A high combination-lift score can reflect the value of multiple components rather than a better rotational section than every standalone RoLi4. Protocol markers and program deductions also need the original results document for context; a symbol attached to a call should not be interpreted from this card alone. The source link is therefore part of the evidence, not an optional decoration.
Using the Examples for Study
Choose two or three cards with similar call structures, open the cited performances, and compare entry, rotation, position change, travel, and exit in the same order. Avoid treating the highest score as a universal model: teams build lifts around their own mechanics and choreography, and lift training carries meaningful safety risk. This page is designed for observation and protocol literacy. Technical instruction, progression, and spotting should come from qualified coaching under the rules and safety practices that apply to the skaters involved.
Primary Rules Sources
Current planning should use the latest official documents. The archive cards retain the calls and scores published for their original events.
