Triple Axel Examples by Skater

A protocol-backed index of triple Axel calls grouped by skater. This page uses the tracked freestyle jump seed, so some examples are protocol references rather than reviewed video clips.

How to Read and Use These Examples

SkatingStorage combines source-attributed results with original explanation so the data can be checked, interpreted, and used in the correct rules context.

What Counts as a Triple Axel Row Here

This guide groups protocol entries whose executed-element call begins with 3A. That includes a standalone 3A, a triple Axel used at the start of a combination, and calls carrying rotation review notation such as q or an under-rotation marker. Those variants remain relevant because the protocol still identifies the attempted jump family, but they are not interchangeable outcomes. Read the exact call before comparing base value or GOE, and use the linked protocol as the authoritative record for the event.

The Dataset Is a Documented Sample

Rows come from the tracked freestyle-jump protocol seed available to SkatingStorage. They are grouped by skater and ordered by the best recorded element score in that sample. The page does not claim to contain every triple Axel attempted by each skater, and it does not provide the denominator needed for a success-rate calculation. A skater with more rows may simply have more represented protocols. This limitation is stated so the list can be used as an evidence index rather than mistaken for a complete competitive statistic.

How to Read the Score

The protocol's element score combines the base value attached to the executed call with the panel's GOE. Combination composition, rotation review, and other call notation can change the base value before GOE is applied. For that reason, the highest score on a skater card is not automatically the cleanest-looking or most difficult triple Axel in every context. Compare like calls, note whether the jump is standalone or in combination, and open the official protocol whenever a symbol or value needs explanation.

Protocol Evidence Is Not Video Verification

Some entries on this page are document references rather than reviewed clips. A protocol can confirm the official executed-element call and score, but it cannot show takeoff path, air position, landing flow, or the visual reason for the judges' marks. SkatingStorage only presents a row as a video study reference when a reviewed public timestamp exists. Where it does not, the card deliberately links to the protocol instead of implying that a corresponding clip was manually verified.

A Responsible Comparison Workflow

Start with skaters who have the same or very similar executed call, compare their base value and GOE, and then verify the source document and event context. Do not infer injury risk, consistency, or training readiness from this table. A triple Axel is an advanced jump whose preparation and technique require qualified coaching. The value of this guide is narrower: it makes official protocol evidence searchable, explains the limits of the sample, and provides a direct path back to the governing rules and results.
